Mathias Mogge

Mathias Mogge was elected as Secretary General of WHH in September 2018. In addition, he has been a member of the Board of VENRO (umbrella organization of development and humanitarian NGOs in Germany) from 2013-2023 (most recently as Chairman from 2022-2023) and serves in an honorary capacity as member of the ​Ambassador Council of the Aid by Trade Foundation, on the Partnership Council of GAIN (Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition) and as a member of the Advisory Committee of the "International Congress Hidden Hunger" organized by the University of Hohenheim. The agricultural engineer and environmental scientist has been working for WHH since 1998 and has been full-time Executive Director Programs since 2010.

From 2001 to 2005, as Regional Director in Bamako (Mali), he was responsible for the development and management of the programmes in Mali, Burkina Faso, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Before that, he was responsible for project work in Uganda, Ethiopia and Sudan as Country Group Spokesperson and Programme Manager from 1998 to 2001.

After his studies in 1993, he began practical development cooperation with the German Development Service as a development worker in the Natural Resource Management Project in Kutum, Darfur region/Sudan.
